Children and adolescents have a wide variety of struggles and needs. Maybe your child is having difficulties with their emotions and/or behaviors which is presenting at school, home, and other environments. Or maybe your child is having issues with listening and following rules. Whether you are seeking therapy for your child for specific issues (behavior modification, improve grades, improve relationships with others) or general issues (improve mood, self-esteem, reduce anxiety or depression), our team is here to help identify these goals and work towards a plan to address these concerns.
Our therapist are trained to assess the needs of your child by taking into consideration their current problems, history, development, time management, organizational skills, executive functioning, and cognitive ability. Treatment will then focus on utilizing interventions and modalities that are best suited for your child’s needs. Therapy may include an individual child, multiple children, or a family.
Individual therapy can be beneficial for children and adolescents in many ways. Our therapists understand the importance of establishing a connection with your child and the need for them to feel safe and comfortable in order for them to express themselves. Some interventions we use in therapy include play therapy, talking, drama, art, music therapy, and DBT. Our goal is to help both the parent and child better understand their emotions and behaviors and work towards appropriate solutions.
